Assimilate

                     Assimilate is basically like trying to fit in with other people. Whether it’s trying to fit in with the popular kids or just your own friend’s people are always going to try to assimilate. If all your friends get the newest phone and you’re the only one who doesn't have it more than likely you’re going to want to get it. Kind of like when fitted hats were in everyone had one but now that snap backs are in people automatically switched to snap backs just because some rapper wrote a song about them. Some people will do anything to fit in with what’s cool they will completely change who they are, buy all new clothes, change who they talk to, and completely change their personality. I knew this one kid in 6th grade he was really shy and now he’s all into having swag and wearing snap backs. i choose not to assimilate because im happy with who i am and im proud of it I am a nerd who loves music!. In "A Raisin in the Sun", Beneatha tries to act like a rich white women. She does so many things, wants to be a doctor, takes guitar lessons, learned to ride a horse, she’s just trying to do what she thinks white people are doing. Deep down I think she loves her family but sometimes is ashamed of them and doesn't want to be around them sometimes. That’s most likely the reason that she tells her mom basically not to embarrass her when her friend, Asagai an intellectual man, comes over. Beneathea is embarresed to be black she tries so hard to be anything else but black, she is black and she cant change that.

Who's more important me or my family

As for me Id probably choose my family first. I want to go off and do my own things but I will always love my family. That's probably the main reason why I want to go to Texas because its not that far from here and I could see me family every week. But at the same time I would love to out and see the world and meet new people. But if I have the chance to spend the entire day with my family Id do it because I love my family that much, of course we get at each others throats sometimes, but I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. Obviously if I get a good job opportunity and its like in Florida id definitely consider it seriously, it just depends I guess if i could wait a little while longer and get the same job here in the area I would. After seeing the same people everyday in your life you kind of grow accustomed to seeing the all the time and it feels weired when their not there right next to you. My parents have showed me so much and there always there for me when i mess up and help me to get up and move on. So yeah my family comes first. P.S. this is my nephew.

My American dream

My American dream is probably the most common one out there. All that I want is to become a doctor that helps with therapy through music, and help and donnate my time to kids in third world countries and treat them with the medical skills that most of their doctors dont have ,and obviously help them get a better life. I want to have kids and get married. The college I want to graduate from is The University of Texas at Austin. I want to have enough money to support my family but still have some left over to give back to my community and school, also I want to pay my parents back for everything they have done for me.I don't need flashy cars or a trophy wife just to be surrounded by people who love me and care for me.As long as I can do and have these things id be living my American dream.

All about myself

My name is Rogelio but I like to be called Roger. I am sixteen and I have lived my whole life in San Antonio. I'm in the mariachi and orchestra programs and my passion is music. I love music because its something that you can have fun with and add little things here and there to make it your own. Music is something that I've loved since I was a little kid singing along to the radio like every other little kid. My favorite type of music is rock and my favorite band is Slipknot. My number one food is anything that my mom makes. My favorite sports team is the Spurs. My favorite celebrity is Tim Duncan. My favorite animal is the duck. I would perfer to graduate from The University of Texas at Austin.
