Walker travels to Eatonville, Florida which is Hurston's hometown. walker tried her hardest to find Hurston's grave. walker even tells a lie ,that she wants to believe, that she is Hurston's niece. Walker has to interpret a misleading map to Hurston's grave. walker also finds Hurston's home before she was taken away after her stroke. When walker finds Hurston's grave she feels good and decides to get a head stone that has "a genius of the south" it shows how highly walker thinks of Hurston. walker starts to develop a sense of kinship with Hurston and feels proud to be of the same heritage as someone like Hurston. in that small black community everyone knew each other and when Hurston died the comunity raised money for her funeral.
